About the Book

The authors bring to life events that have over the past four thousand years shaped the Jewish people and determined the course of their history. Divided into four sections--Moments of Courage, Moments of Joy, Moments of Despair, and Moments of Creativity--this stirring work recreates the high points and low points of the Jewish adventure over the millennia and throughout the world, affording us today the opportunity to experience the momentous Jewish past. With black-and-white photographs.

"I myself have taken part in a fair number of the 'moments' in this book, though I never quite thought of them at the time as the greatest moments in Jewish history. Of course, they were just that, and we have the Slaters to thank for highlighting them in this excellent volume."
--Teddy Kollek
